Restored Rushton Pleasure Rowboat This version of Rushton’s Iowa model Pleasure Rowboat has decks that are longer than usual and a mast tube for a downwind sail, not present. The strips of the deck are wider than usual and of oak or ash, perhaps to stiffen the decks for sailing forces. The boat is in good finish. There is quite a lot of replacement planking, well done but some of it not clear cedar. These Rushton rowboats are preferable to guideboats for comfortable rowing, especially for the elderly, with higher seats and higher sides, and they have much greater initial stability.
